deprexis® is based on cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT). The overall aim is to teach patients useful skills that can be applied in everyday life to overcome depression.

It contains 10 content modules that help patients build coping skills to address negative thoughts, behaviors, social situations, and problem solving.

deprexis® is a web application indicated for the adjunctive treatment of chronic or recurrent depression or depressive disorders as a primary or secondary diagnosis (eg, as a comorbidity in multiple sclerosis or epilepsy) for patients 18 years of age or older who are experiencing a depressive episode. deprexis® should not be used by patients with untreated psychotic disorders (eg, schizophrenia) or suicidal thoughts.

deprexis® has demonstrated clinically relevant improvement in mild to severe depressive symptoms when utilized for a period of 8–12 weeks. The benefits of deprexis® are observed in a variety of clinical settings (inpatient, outpatient, with or without adjunctive psychotherapy) and independently of whether the program is guided by a clinician or it is self-administered. A review of deprexis®-specific clinical trials conducted around the world found that using deprexis® can produce a clinically relevant improvement in depressive symptoms in a variety of clinical settings.²

Patients can access deprexis® on their smartphone, tablet, laptop or desktop computer, as long as they have internet access.

deprexis® provides personalized virtual cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT)–based support for patients 18 years of age or older with depression. It is intended as adjunctive or add-on therapy for patients who are experiencing a depressive episode as either a primary or secondary diagnosis. While patients may use deprexis® along with in-person counseling, this is not a requirement of deprexis®. deprexis® is not meant to replace treatment by a healthcare professional. Patients using deprexis® should not change their existing medication and/or treatment without consulting their doctor or healthcare professional.

You will not automatically receive any information about your patients through deprexis®. Only your patients will be able to decide who will see their personal information.

deprexis® takes protecting personal data very seriously. Personally identifiable data will not be given to third parties or be used for marketing purposes. All personal data is saved according to data protection regulations, and data transmission takes place over a secure HTTPS internet connection, which encrypts it.
